Project overview
About QCAE Online
A transparent, multilingual implementation of the Questionnaire of Cognitive and Affective Empathy.
Purpose
The project makes established QCAE forms easier to administer while preserving their published item order, scoring rules, source history, and language-specific differences. It reports raw scores only and is not a diagnostic service.
How it works
The questionnaire runs entirely in the browser. Responses are held in memory, scored locally, and may be downloaded as JSON or CSV. The site has no account system, analytics, advertising, cookies, database, or participant-response endpoint.
Scoring
The original 31-item form uses a four-point agreement scale. Items 1, 2, 17, and 29 are reverse-scored. Five subscales are reported, together with cognitive, affective, and total raw scores when supported by the selected validation model. Language variants may contain a different number of items.
Trust model
- Pure scoring functions with automated tests.
- Machine-readable instrument, sources, schemas, and version metadata.
- No normative labels without a cited population-specific dataset.
- Language-specific provenance and translation status are documented clearly.
